Dr. Ying Ying Wong is a hematopathologist based in Malaysia, currently practicing at Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Universiti Putra Malaysia, and serving as a Visiting Consultant Hematopathologist at Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC), Selangor, Malaysia. She is actively involved in diagnostic hematology, with a focus on peripheral blood and bone marrow morphology, hematological malignancies, and laboratory-based clinical decision support.

She is currently pursuing a Fellowship in Molecular Genetics in Haematological Disorders at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), further strengthening her expertise in the molecular diagnostics and pathogenesis of hematological diseases.

Dr. Wong is committed to advancing quality and patient safety in laboratory medicine, and is actively engaged in ISO 15189:2022 accreditation processes, including the development and implementation of quality management procedures. Her work emphasizes timely and accurate reporting of critical laboratory results in alignment with national patient safety goals.

In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she has a strong interest in medical education and the simplification of complex haematology concepts for students and trainees. Dr. Wong’s academic interests include peripheral blood and bone marrow morphology, hematological malignancies, laboratory quality systems, and integrating molecular diagnostics and technology into education. She is dedicated to contributing to reliable, evidence-based medical content and fostering continuous learning within the medical community.
